Jupiter and It's Moons

Jupiter has pretty colors. It's bands are actually storm clouds. The Red Spot is a storm that at least has been around for 300 years or more. You cannot see it's rings because Jupiter is so bright.

Jupiter has 60 moons or satellites. The big ones are called Galilean moons. They are moons that Galileo found. Their names are Ganymede, Callisto, Io, Europa.
One of it's moons is very colorful and it has volcanoes. Instead of shooting lava, they shoot sulfur. These are on Io.

Jupiter helps the earth because it pulls in asteroids and comets that are really big and might hit the earth. It pulls them in because it's so big. It is made out of gases but in the middle is a rocky core.
